Google Practical Tools Project Reflection

This semester we have enjoyed learning and discovering new things. I start discovering new things when I was searching for my training session on Google Labs. Also I have learned many new things from my class mates training. The training sessions helped us a lot to discover new thing about Google and Google tools. We had great time learning from our friends.

The next project that our whole class chooses was Google Practical. In this project we have to apply and use Google tools that we learned about in the training sessions. I was really felt that it will be difficult but it was not. In this project I discover new things and while learning new things I was really happy and pleased and I had a feeling that I am a genius.

The first tool that I have uses was Google Chrome. I use this browser because it is fast, safer and I can change it theme. As well I love using iGoogle since it give you a chance to personalize your homepage. Also I have used Google Docs with my group to share our group work like the reports. I have used Google Language tools very much to translate words and paragraphs to Arabic ^_*.

Also I had a great time while sharing and accepting Google Calendar with my group since this gives me overview about their daily schedule and events ha3. Also I have added my tasks and personal appointment in Google Calendar and I have given each of my friends a different color for the calendar. What’s more I have created a background for my calendar.

What’s More I spent a great time reading class mates blogs since I felt that helped me a lot to know more about them. However, I found writing the blogs hard for me since I do it in English and it takes me a lot of time. The advantage point in doing the blogs in English was to help me improving my writing skill.

All in all, Google Practical have a helped me a lot in my personal life and professional work. It saves my time since I am using Google Chrome, Google Docs, and Google language tools. It saves our money since we have an automatic reminder in Google Calendar so no need to send SMS to our friend to remind us.

Rainy Day

Thanks god today was a rainy day in the United Arab Emirates. From the early morning the rain starts to fall in the country. I really like the rain and the winter. When I was young I liked to play under the rain. Also I like the smell of the sand after the rain and I believe that the rain will wash the world (country) and will clean the hearts from any anger.

But today in the morning I had a strange feeling I was afraid of going to the collage. I was afraid to ride to the collage since it will be the first time for me to ride in a rainy day. This was the reason why I wake up my father and brother early in the morning since I need someone to take me to the collage. It was shocking for me that booth of the refuse to take me to the collage because they were busy.

I didn’t know what to do. Do I have to go by myself or shall I be absent for this day? I remembered that I have a role play and we have lesson in Mr. Tridib class. So I decided to go to the collage by myself and get the experience to drive in rainy days.

So I get out from the home early and I on my lights. I was really careful wile overcoming other cars and I was driving at the speed of 60. And at the end finally I reach the college with the experience of driving in rainy day.

This is the effect of the rain in Abu Dhabi since the rain fall in the UAE.

Bazaar Bank

This Year is the first year that the Business and Management (Financial Services) have managed the whole bazaar Banks in Dubai Women’s’ collage. This was easy for our class since many students have worked before in the bazaar Bank but for me it was the first time to work there. I was in charge to distribute the students among the banks as they like and I have chosen to work in the treasury and the main bank.

I worked in the Bazaar main bank and in the treasury department for 13 hours a day.
I arrive to collage early and start my work with my team at 9am by opening accounts for 6 bank branches. After that we supervise the Main Bank and 5 Bazaar Bank branches. Also in the middle we receive funds. At the end of the day we balance the accounts for 6 bank branches.

Yesterday was the last day that I worked in the Bazaar Bank. That’s why I am very sad today since I miss the work and the people I worked with. I like the fun that I had during the work, the responsibility that Mr. Phil Brear gave to me and I like the group that I worked with during the bazaar.

What’s more I was very happy at the last day of the bazaar since I had Special Achievement Award for working 13 hours each day for THREE days in the TREASURY Dept & The Head Office of the Bazaar Bank from 8th to 10th December 2009. This is one of the most two important achievement that I had and the second achievement when I was in the foundation year I got the Student of the Year award.

This is probably the most important ‘Achievement Award’ a ‘Financial Services Student’ can be awarded because it is the first time in 13 years that any student has been given such a prestigious award.

Also, Dr Howard will be asked to make this award to me for my dedication and loyal and for demonstrating exceptional ‘Management’ and ‘Business’ skills with infinite energy and tremendous enthusiasm far beyond the call of normal duty. Also my name have been added to the FSRV Bazaar Bank’s 13 year old “Roll of Honour”.

Words cannot describe how proud and happy I am. Thanks to all of you ,to Mr. Phil Brear and to my team. :)

2012

Yesterday I went to Dubai mall to the real cinema. I wanted to attend Indian movie but then I changed my mind and I attend English movie which is 2012.

The movie talks about a disaster that will happen to the earth that will case the end of the world. This movie is a fiction movie since they talks about the end of the world that will happened on 21/12/2012. Also about how the actor John Cusack and Amanda Peet struggling to rush out of a city that’s destroyed to pieces by a huge earthquake and how they have successfully survives.

I really like this movie but I know that this is never gonna happen, this story is fake, but it was really good.

Dubai Mall

Dubai Mall is the largest mall in the UAE. This mall has become famous between people since it has many shops, restaurants, the ice rank, the aquarium and the real cinema. I really like going to Dubai Mall because it is near to my house and it is easy for me to go to there after the collage to have a quick meal.

Instead of all of these points I like to go to Dubai Mall to enjoy the beautiful view in Downtown Burj Dubai. There you can enjoy seeing The Dubai Fountain which can shoots water jets as high of 150 metres. You can experience a piece of music, light and water as you sees The Dubai Fountain dance. Also you will like the View of Burj Dubai and the Address Hotel and Souq Al Bahar.

The Big Decision

This week I had many things to do. Many decisions to take like the work placement choice. I felt little bit confused to choose the organization that I will work in my work placement. It was confusing because I wanted to work in many organizations. To solve this problem I was narrowing the choices as what will suit.

Firstly, I choose what will fit my health condition and this helped me a lot since it narrow many choices. After that a thought of the location of the organization and how I will get there. So finally I choose Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank as the best organization for me to work there.

I believe that I made the right choose since in the bank the working hours is good and I like the bank work. Also I may work near my home in choose Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank branch in Al Safa. Moreover I will learn many things in the bank I will learn how to deal with different type of people ad I can apply my studies there
